Maverick helped me curate this list of his favorite products. He is a picky dude, so you know these are going to be good. Each item is explained in more depth below with their coordinating numbers and a click through link if you are interested in purchasing.

Maverick is my 13 week old Australian Shepherd pup. He has a heart of gold, the energy of a psycho, and the softest fur in the world. My boyfriend and I have always wanted to get a dog and quarantine called for the perfect timing. With us both being stuck at home we were able to really dedicate to his training and spending quality time with him. We found Maverick on Craig’s List and it was love at first site.

We got him when he was only 6 weeks old and it has definitely been a challenge training a puppy, but we got lucky with Maverick being so smart and just one look at his cute little face and its all worth it. I would do anything for his little wiggle butt. The past few months have been a life changing bonding experience and I love being a dog mom. Animals bring so much joy into even the most mundane moments. There is nothing like walking into a room and seeing him so hyped to see you. It has also been great having a requirement to spend more time outside. I always look forward to our daily walks.

We definitely spoil our little guy, so this list is full of his top picks. I will continue to post updated products on our instagram and make more lists as he grows up and we have new favorites!

1. DOG LICK PAD - Maverick LOVES these lick pads. You can spread peanut butter or yogurt on them and then stick it to whatever surface to distract your pup and let them enjoy licking up that good good. They are a handy tool to use when you are trying to give them a bath or clip their nails. Maverick honestly just loves these as a game of fetch. We through them against the fridge or window and they suction right away. He loves to jump them up and rip them off. It’s a good challenge and he always seems so proud of himself haha.

2. Adjustable Dog Harness - We ordered a couple sizes of these, so we could continue to use them as he grows up. (He is growing so fast!!!!) These are so easy to clip on and Maverick seems to find them comfy. He isn’t a big fan of his collar and always scratches when it is on, but with the harness he patiently holds still when we put it on and then he is happy as a clam. It is great, especially for a new pup who can be a wiggle monster on the leash. We never feel like he is being choked if he is pulling. It is also made with a mesh fabric, so its more breathable for his fluffy body. The handle is super helpful when you are trying to navigate him or help pull him up on a seat or bench when he needs an extra boost.

3. FURminator Deshedding Brush - This deshedding brush is a game changer. We were taking Maverick for a walk and ran into another fellow Aussie and owner. The dude recommended this brush and said it was a must have, so we took him up on it and ordered one the same day. Thank you Aussie man - you were right! It is so easy to use, has a button to easily detach hair from the brush, and Maverick loves it.

4. Zuke’s Natural Dog Training Treats - Maverick straight up licks his lips and salivates over these bad boys. So great for training! The small size is perfect for puppies. Maverick will do anything for these treats, he is obsessed.

5. IRobot Roomba - The best investment ever. I got this before I even had a pup. I was obsessed with it then, but I couldn’t live without it now. It makes life SO MUCH EASIER. It does it’s job, just make sure all chords and things that could get caught are out of the way. It is easy to empty out and clean as well. It does miss some corners and hard to reach spots, but overall it gets the job done and even gets the hard to reach spots like under the bed. It picks up all the dog hair and is a MUST HAVE for sure.

6. Puppy Potty Training Turf Pad - This is SO helpful for potty training when you live in an apartment. We live in a high rise and puppies need to be taken out every few hours. The normal potty pads weren’t working for us. Maverick could not understand the texture, so this turf pad was a game changer. We keep it on our balcony and Maverick picked it up so fast!! He is such a good boy and goes right away on the turf when we open the door for him. We now don’t have to take the elevator down multiple times a day just to take him for a potty break. If you don’t have immediate access to a yard this is essential for your sanity. You and your puppy will thank you.

7. Dog Treat Jar - I was so over seeing the dog treat bag on our counter. It was one of those little things that just drove me crazy and threw off the entire aesthetic of the room. I ordered this jar purely because I thought it was cute, but was pleasantly surprised with how well it works as well. The lid suctions shut, so it keeps the treats from drying out. It is a good size too - holds lots of treats! It’s not part of the pleasing aesthetic and holds a purpose. Definitely an upgrade from the treat bag!
